Description

Responsible for assessing, defining and championing the IT architecture strategies, principles, policies and standards in alignment with Cummins IT strategy and governing their use; guides the product / project teams to create, document, assess and/or validate the application and infrastructure architecture artifacts / designs for specific systems to meet Cummins security policies, governance, compliance and regulations and review the architecture artifacts with the stakeholders.

As required, help drive and mentor other Architects on the team and work on architecture activities. Assist leadership teams on Cummins IT strategic initiatives and Architecture initiatives as needed.

Applies strategic thinking to see the future possibilities and translate into breakthrough technology strategies.

Strives to be the expert and thought leader in at least one or multiple areas of IT architecture within and outside Cummins.

Leads the research, evaluation, and selection of application, technology, and infrastructure standards.

Leads the analysis of the technology environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.

Creates project and technology roadmaps and define migration plans to mitigate the gaps between the current and future state.

Develops standards for the specific function or technology domain and defines design patterns and configurations that can be reused as building blocks for other solutions.

Leads and facilitates the creation of governing principles to manage change and guide solution decisions for the enterprise.

Leads the efforts to ensure coherence and completeness across all Cummins Technology Reference Model (CTRM) disciplines.

Maintains positive relationships with IT and business leaders to effectively promote and communicate IT architecture value proposition.

Leads strategic engagements with IT stakeholders to apply IT strategy to architecture future state architecture and develops roadmaps to realize future state.

Defines and ensures effective metrics to measure standards adoption, reuse, and demonstrate value.

Strives to be an expert in diverse emerging technologies and software trends focused on driving comparative advantage for CMI.

Cultivates strong relationships with industry experts; participates and may present at conferences and round tables.

Performs complex cost/benefit analysis when researching future state capabilities.

Coaches and mentors less senior Architects on Security, Domain and/or Solution Architecture activities.

Assists Cummins IT / Common Services / Architecture Leadership on Cummins IT strategic initiatives and architecture initiatives as needed.

Collaborates with project teams to understand requested capabilities and recommends the right set of technologies to meet the needs.

Architecture System Design - Defines and develops architecture deliverables, artifacts and building blocks (e.g. conceptual models, logical models, physical network designs, etc.) by applying architecture principles through the use of an architecture development framework and methodology that enables the organization to transform its systems in a controlled manner in response to business needs.

Solution Functional Fit Analysis - Composes and decomposes a system into its component parts using procedures, tools and work aides for the purpose of studying how well the component parts were designed, purchased and configured to interact holistically to meet business, technical, security, governance and compliance requirements.

Strategic Roadmap Planning - Produces a high-level, multi-year product and capability roadmap utilizing internal and external business resource, asset and market knowledge and experience to communicate the organization's focus and priorities to internal and external stakeholders.

System Solution Architecture - Creates solution designs and patterns using the Cummins Technical Reference Model (CTRM), CLEAN standards, and existing reference patterns to maintain alignment to Cummins standards.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

College, university, or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related subject, or relevant equivalent experience required. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

Significant relevant experience required in IT-related disciplines. 10 years of experience.

Design, create and enhance application architecture and assist the client to shape their architectural vision and roadmap plan.

Design and instruct the solution framework to the Salesforce product and platform teams.

Drive the creation of application and technical design documents which leverage Salesforce best practices and effectively integrate Salesforce into the enterprise infrastructure

Responsible for owning the architecture and designing of complex Salesforce platform solution components (e.g., design, development, integration, security, deployment, release management, and maintenance).

Responsible for ensuring that the system accurately meets the defined expectations of the business, ensuring that proper testing is implemented, and performance and security requirements are closely monitored by working with the project teams

Provide technical guidance to the development of Salesforce.com applications to support business and product strategies

Platform Development 1 , Salesforce Administrator , Salesforce App Builder Certified.

7 years of hands-on full Salesforce implementation experience, designing solutions, configuring and developing custom Apex/Visualforce/Lightning code in the areas of Service Cloud, Sales Cloud, Workflows, Mobile, Single Sign On, API's, Mulesoft, and integration to enterprise systems
