Discovery Life Sciences is a trusted provider of quality biospecimens and laboratory services to hundreds of customers across the U.S. and around the world. Under the direction of the Associate Director, Salesforce Operations, this position focuses on the ongoing development of our Salesforce.com deployment. The administrator will work closely with functional leaders, organizational units, and subject matter experts to identify, develop, and deploy new business processes while managing existing workflows. This role is part technical project manager, part administrator, and part Salesforce analyst. This position will be responsible for the executing on day-to-day configuration, support, maintenance, and enhancement of our Salesforce.com deployment.

Certifications/License/Registration Requirements :

  • Salesforce.com Admin (ADM201/ADM211) certification strongly desired or demonstrated equivalent experience
  • Sales Cloud, Service Cloud and Developer certifications preferred

Qualification/Experience:

  • Minimum five years of experience as a Salesforce.com administrator
  • Financial Force and SCM knowledge highly desired
  • Experience converting to modern platforms (Lightning, Collaborative Forecasts, etc.) strongly preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel
  • Proven ability to design and implement new processes and facilitate user adoption.
  • Extensive knowledge of Salesforce security controls, permission sets, and sharing settings, as well as workflows, field updates, process builder, email templates, data loader, managed packages, etc.
  • Understanding of Deployment and Change Management best practices
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce.com best practices and functionality
  • Strong data management abilities
  • A documented history of successfully driving projects to completion
  • A demonstrated ability to understand and articulate complex requirements
  • Excellent project management skills and a positive attitude
  • Creative and analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills
  • Must demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively at all levels across the organization
  • Ability to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, distill high-level information into details, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
  • Ability to assess the impact of new requirements on Salesforce.com and all upstream and downstream applications, systems, and processes
  • Experience in Healthcare, HIPAA, or GDPR environment a plus
  • Experience with FinancialForce and CPQ/SCM a plus

Essential Duties/Responsibilities :

  • Serve as lead system administrator for the Salesforce.com environment with 500+ users
  • Handle all basic administrative functions including user account maintenance, reports and dashboards, and other routine tasks
  • Manage complex user permissions and profiles
  • Create and customize objects, workflows, record types, page layouts, fields (including advanced formulas and lookups), apps, tabs, profiles, security, and approval processes
  • Perform quality testing and validation of standard and custom environments
  • Complete regular internal system audits and prepare for upgrades
  • Ensure data integrity; experience with data manipulation, cleaning, and de-duplication
  • Evaluate and understand the impact of changes to environment (including performance and other platform customizations)
  • Manage Salesforce.com data feeds and other integrations
  • Coordinate the evaluation, scope and completion of new development requests
  • Work with management team to establish suitable processes to support administrative, development, and change management activities
  • Assist in training of new users, and grow the Salesforce.com skill set across the organization
  • Effectively act as the liaison between our users, vendors and our internal development team
  • Work independently with members of the user community to define and document development requirements
  • Mentor other members of the Salesforce Admin team
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor. These may, on occasion, be unrelated to the position described here
  • Consistent and predictable attendance is an essential function of the position
