Position Summary:

The Salesforce Technical manager is responsible for the development and integration initiatives and projects for the Company's Salesforce environment. The product owner collaborates with stakeholders to define Salesforce product requirements, develop user stories and acceptance criteria, and produce and manage a clearly defined backlog. Works closely with the Salesforce business owner to provide solutions and prioritizes requirements to deliver best value to the Association.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Develop a clear understanding of the company's Salesforce environment, its integrations with other systems and the business utilization and needs for the platform.

Responsible for the Company's Salesforce roadmap. Continuously review industry standards and best practices to ensure optimal use of Salesforce; evaluate new releases and determine appropriate course of actions. Develop tactical and strategic recommendations.

Coordinate with Salesforce Administrator in Sales and Marketing, all business units, and integration vendors to develop and facilitate the implementation of new or improved business processes.

• Apply detailed knowledge of business workflows gained through business interviews and scoping to develop requirements for product enhancements. Be a change agent who can work with internal teams to drive process improvements in an agile development environment.

Collaborate effectively with Business Owner on requirements management, including planning, collection, analysis, validation and communication. Document in Jira and Confluence.

• Work with business owners, developers and QA to develop and refine user stories, features and assist with rapid user feedback on a team using an outside-in development methodology; manage the JIRA board.

• Responsible for the JIRA Salesforce backlog grooming.

• Optimize resource utilization by ensuring that clear requirements and user stories have been defined and approved by business owner before development start to minimize the need for re-work. Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner.

• Ensure that all changes are tested before they are implemented and that documentation such as release notes is created, distributed and approved prior to deployment for each Salesforce release.

• Manage contracts with sub-contractors, and suppliers. Assign tasks and monitor expected deliverables. Track project costs against budget.

• Engage with end-users regularly to develop a strong understanding of business needs, workflows and how they impact business. Identify opportunities for improvement.

• Actively monitor functionality and quality of released deliverables and collaborate with team to proactively diagnose and solve issues.

• Attend and participate in business process analysis meetings; apply data flow charts to document, define, and analyze current business practices; recommend and implement modifications as needed.

• Track project performance by using appropriate KPI’s, metrics, and technical tools to ensure business deliverables adhere to quality standards.

• Work within an Agile framework to deliver product in sprints or hybrid sprints, prioritizing development team’s work with Scrum or Kanban.

• Track capital and operating spending by development teams/vendors and work with the team to ensure projects are completed within scope, on budget and on time.

• Continuously review industry standards and best practices to ensure optimal use of Salesforce; evaluate new releases and determine appropriate course of actions.

• Continuously engage with Security team to ensure data security and compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, IT, Systems Engineering, or other related field required.
  • 8 years of experience as a Certified Salesforce Administrator, Certified Sales Cloud Consultant, Certified Service Cloud Consultant, Certified Scrum Master, or Certified Scrum Product Owner of Salesforce.com, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Pardot, Social Studio, or other integrations.
  • Agile / Scrum experience. Product management experience with Atlassian Jira and Confluence. Ability to break down epic-level user stories into detail-level stories consumable and testable by a scrum team.
  • Strong sense of personal accountability with ability to juggle competing priorities.
  • Strong analytical, organization and documentation skills with excellent attention to detail. Ability to react quickly to complex situations
  • Knowledge of financial services management systems needed, life insurance policy administration systems experience is preferred.
  • Strong process engineering and process flow design w/ documentation, data structure/architecture, UX/UI (User Experience/User Interface), design best practices, and API development/interface experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others in a professional setting.
