As the Salesforce Platform Manager this position's primary responsibility is system integrity, data creditability, change management and compliance. This position is responsible for developing new solutions on the Salesforce platform to meet business needs and will work with consulting partners on larger Salesforce related projects. In addition, this position provides the day-to-day administration of Salesforce, including but not limited to updates, enhancements, configurations and reporting. This includes working with Architects, Leads, Business Analysts and the Development Team to manage, develop, maintain and optimize the Salesforce environment.

As the Manager, this position supervises, instructs, assists, directs, and checks the work product of team members. In addition, this position is involved in the development of associates through coaching, objective setting, training, and performance monitoring and management.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Full supervisory responsibilities as a first line leader. This includes interviewing, hiring, performance management, disciplinary measures, coaching, development, etc. Act as the Salesforce subject matter expert, ensuring its success as the unified system of record. Primary contact for Sales and Operations teams, as well as all other end users, to offer tailored assistance for Salesforce system set up, planning, training and report generation based on end user needs. Evaluate the platform and processes, providing solutions to streamline functionality using formulas, workflows, Visualforce, visual workflows, and APEX triggers. Support business initiatives requiring Salesforce information, recommending various features, functionality, and/or reports which track the success of the initiatives. Develop a thorough understanding of NBS business needs and processes to recommend automation where appropriate. Coordinate requirement analysis, as well as design, document, build, implement, test, and deploy alerts, reports and dashboards for in-house projects. Coordinate proper change management processes and development of execution plan. Coordinate with consulting partner on outsourced projects assisting as needed with requirement analysis, design, documentation, testing and deployment. Develop and conduct training sessions and create and update training materials. Interpret data for non-technical audiences and make recommendations to optimize strategies where appropriate. Design and implement processes around date stewardship to ensure data integrity and standardization. Maintain user profiles, role hierarchy, sharing rules, permission sets and security. Assist in application customization via custom objects, workflows, visual flows, page layouts, record types, views, fields, dashboards, and reports. Work with other internal development teams to configure, deploy and QA new features and functions in test and production environments. Assist in the management of mass data updates and transfers between Salesforce objects to support desired team structures, account ownership plans and support of "protected" accounts. Stay abreast of new Salesforce features and functionality, providing recommendations as warranted. This includes research and management of Salesforce partner tools. Review and provide insight on quarterly releases and test appropriate functionality in them. Provide technical support and tracking of system issues. Manage special projects as assigned, such as client support report tracking, ad-hoc reporting and contract processing.

EDUCATION:

Bachelors' Degree in related field with the ability to substitute relevant experience. Salesforce certification required.

EXPERIENCE:

5 years of related experience. A minimum of 2 years Salesforce administration and/or development experience. Experience with marketing automation tools preferred (i.e., ExactTarget/Marking Cloud). Experience working with multiple divisions within a single Salesforce Instance. Familiarity with APEX and Visualforce desired.

Understanding of performance management and associate development to effectively implement processes. Proven ability to work adeptly and effectively with others in high-priority situations, using solid judgment to establish priorities and effective problem resolution strategies to the team, as well as internal customers. Broad understanding of the business, with analytical and strategic skills to identify issues, prioritize requests and fully understand the related needs to offer custom solutions. Strong problem solving with the ability to identify the root cause of issues and provide applicable solutions. Solid understanding of sales processes. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to visually present complex data in an easily understood manner. Ability to work on multiple, time-sensitive projects simultaneously. Process oriented with the ability to develop Salesforce customizations, including custom objects, workflows, page layouts, third party application integration, etc. Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy. Advance Microsoft Excel skills along with excellent Word, Visio and PowerPoint skills. Confidence to interact with all levels in the organization and lead cross-departmental team projects.
