The Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer will be the leading role in delivering automated solutions that enable personalization and segmentation defined by the Customer Relationship Marketing Managers (both B2C and B2B) and the Sr. Manager, Email Technology.  The position is critical to the day-to-day operations of the CRM/Email Marketing team at Advance Auto Parts and its role in driving incremental sales for the company. Successful candidates will thrive in an agile environment, speak up to share ideas and enjoy documenting clear vision, goals and stories.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: other duties may be assigned:

  • Manage comprehensive marketing automation strategies to achieve the business goals of the company
  • Develop data-driven, dynamic solutions enabling the use of segmentation, personalized content and automation of current and future efforts
  • Build foundational framework within Salesforce Marketing Cloud for scalable solutions to meet both current and future needs of the business.
  • Develop custom features and other advanced capabilities within Salesforce Marketing Cloud and execute other technical projects as needed to achieve defined automation objectives.
  • Responsible for email data architecture, DIY & Speed Perks


  • 4 years of experience working in an Email Marketing automation platform
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Salesforce Marketing Cloud which includes Email Studio, Mobile Studio and Journey Builder
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in SQL
  • Advanced scripting language skills such as AMPScript, SSJS for emails, landing pages, SMS
  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Specialist Certification required
  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer Certification required
  • Ability to develop Reports, Dashboards, and continuously monitor data quality and integrity
  • Experience working in Agile environment with clear communication, consistent source of trustworthy information with transparency and good decision-making


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 4 years of experience
  • Or, equivalent combination of experience and/or education

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position will not be responsible for managing a team or direct reports.
