Description
The Salesforce Software Engineering Manager is a people first leader and will lead a team responsible for application development. This leader is responsible for growing associates in all aspects of the development lifecycle. This leader has a strong technical background, deep Salesforce platform knowledge to adopt new technologies, establish and enhance development practice to deliver the highest degree of software quality while accelerating speed to market. The Software Engineer Leader will possess knowledge in leading agile practices, continuous development methodologies, driving automated test-driven development, and have a working knowledge of integration and architecture solutions. Responsible for significant areas of the Salesforce strategic roadmap. Continually review new innovations in Salesforce releases and how they can be applied to Safelite business needs.
What You'll Do:

Work with IT Senior Management to develop product, department direction and vision that ensures alignment with business strategy

People leadership, associate engagement, associate development planning, interviewing and hiring, performance management, and feedback

Manages Salesforce Core platform application team

Focus on department tasks including design, development, validation, and/or configuration of Salesforce systems that meet technical specifications and end-user requirements

Drives team expectations and goals to ensure the success of the department in accordance with milestones developed by IT Senior Management

Lead technical teams, providing guidance to influence standards for development, governance, and operational life cycle

Identify ongoing risks and pain points throughout project experiences to develop and implement internal mitigation measures to meet customer needs

Identify opportunities and efficiencies in the operating model and support implementation

Establishes and maintains key performance indicators for the practice of software engineering. Endorse and motivate teams to support and ensure the Safelite Software Development methodology is followed.

Leads vendor review and selection process as appropriate digit

Determines resource needs based on team workload and project requirements

Department tasks including design, development, validation, and/or configuration of IT systems that meet technical specifications and end-user requirements

Train, coach, and mentor team members on hard technical skills and soft skills

Deliver compelling presentations, architectural blueprint documents, and requirements-gathering workshops to influence the strategic direction of our projects and lead teams through solution designs

Determines resource needs based on team workload and project requirements

Act as the product/domain area subject matter expert
What You'll Need:
-
15+ years of IT implementation experience and 10+ years of Salesforce.com project experience
-
Deep Salesforce platform knowledge and an understanding of business processes
-
•Familiarity with Salesforce’s core features and functionality, including the Service Cloud (Service Service Console, Digital Engagement, Chat/Einstein Bots), Sales Cloud, and Experience Cloud

Understanding the Salesforce architecture, data, and security models
-
Understanding of Apex and the platform’s custom logic, triggers, and batch processes

Lightning Web Components: Experience with Visualforce and Lightning components for creating custom user interfaces and interactive applications.

Proficiency in Salesforce Object Query Language (SOQL) and Salesforce Object Search Language (SOSL) for querying and searching data within the Salesforce platform

Experience with Salesforce APIs (REST, SOAP, etc.) for integrating Salesforce with external systems and applications. Know databases and relationships (parent and child relationships) and how they can be used throughout development.

Understand composition, encapsulation, invokable methods, Governor’s Limits on Salesforce, security considerations
