Job Description

SUMMARY

The Salesforce Developer will take responsibility and ownership for programmatic requests. This role will be central to continually improving and enhancing the Salesforce platform for our organization.

Working alongside our Salesforce Administrators, Delivery Director, and Salesforce Architects, you will collaborate on specifications based on stakeholder requirements, validate the proposals, and deliver the solutions.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

  • Collaborating with the Salesforce Administrator and Architects to validate business requirements and associated considerations (usability, security, scalability, maintainability, governor limits).
  • Develop Apex (classes and triggers), Process Builder, Flows, VF Pages to support business requirements.
  • Custom User Interface development including Visualforce pages/Lightning pages, Aura Components and Lightning Web Components.
  • Using Salesforce APIs to integrate with other systems used in the organization.
  • Collaborating with IT / Developers for other systems to integrate across the business.
  • Adhere to Salesforce best practices, maintain code documentation, and write & maintain test classes for all custom development. Comfortable contributing to and following Salesforce SDLC. Experience developing with a test-driven mindset.
  • Collaborate on release cycles to implement and deploy new/updates to existing applications and code. Comfortable working with CI/CD pipelines, Changesets, Git and DevOps tooling.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESONSIBILITIES

  • Completes all required compliance exams on a yearly basis.
  • Adherence to all First United Policies and Procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

EMPLOYEE SPECIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
  • 5+ years' experience in a leading role developing for Salesforce.
  • Certified Salesforce Platform Developer I. Prefer Salesforce Platform App Builder.
  • Hands on Agile practitioner experience (Azure DevOps, Git Repos, Task management tools).
  • Demonstratable ability to develop analytical solutions that meet or exceed business needs.
  • Banking experience preferred. nCino experience is a plus.

TECHNICAL/FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES

  • Strong knowledge of the overall Salesforce ecosystem (FSC, Marketing Cloud, Managed Packages, Integration Strategies).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Visual Studio, Salesforce Lightning Design System, and the Salesforce development lifecycle.
  • Experience implementing and developing in Apex, Flows, LWC, Visualforce, and Java.
  • General web development experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
  • Competency in other languages / development (XML, JavaScript, .NET C#, SQL, REST, SOAP-based web services).
  • A proactive attitude to Salesforce enhancements and bringing existing code into best practices.
  • Ability to write, interpret, and critique technical specifications.
  • Experience working with large data sets and bulkification.
  • Soft skills: the ability to gather requirements and present solutions to stakeholders.
  • Able to work independently. Can collaborate and communicate effectively with business stakeholders / other Salesforce team members.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging technologies, recommending improvements to existing processes and systems to drive business efficiency and innovation.
