Job Summary:

The Salesforce Administrator is responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and monitoring performance of the Salesforce platform. This includes creating reports and dashboards, managing data, managing system security, and configuration /change management while staying up-to-date on the platform's new tools, capabilities, and upgrades.

The Salesforce Administrator works on the the Salesforce Maintenance and Operations team that follows agile as well as traditional software and project management life cycles. This core team consists of Business Analysts, Project Managers, Scrum Masters, Quality Analysts, Developers, and Salesforce Administrators.

The primary functions of this position include day-to-day tasks ranging from configuration, helping users develop reports, resetting passwords to maintaining data quality, adding fields, and running backups, among other support and maintenance activities.

This position works with stakeholders to define requirements and to customize the platform to enable users of any technical level to get the most out of Salesforce ensuring ease of use. This includes being the point of contact for any user within the organization with questions or training on how best to utilize Salesforce.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:

- Maintain and optimize Salesforce components, including validations, workflows, page layouts, approval processes, user accounts, permission sets, profiles, roles, queues, cases, workflows, and other routine tasks. Create standardized and ad-hoc reports and dashboards, provide proactive and reactive data management support to users.
- Monitor performance and health; complete regular internal system audits; prepare for upgrades; implement changes; and apply patches when required. Design and maintain reports to monitor the health, use deduplication tools to scrub duplicate data from the database, and use Apex tests, and field utilization reports. Troubleshoots application key selection, creation of appropriate indexes, and query needs.
- Define and apply suitable processes to support administrative, development, and change management standards for sandbox testing, and promotion to production. Implement and maintain Apex classes and triggers to support reliable automation and bulk actions. Review, evaluate, design, implement, and maintain database[s]. Implement and review appropriate security guidelines/mechanisms.
- Develop standard operating procedures for data access and analysis. Document all errors and changes to field history tables. Perform database maintenance functions. Move, rebuild, or change database objects as required in production. Document data requirements in a logical Entity Relationship Diagram.
- Responsible for working with internal and external teams to translate sound database design with tables, fields, and relationships in order to document, define, implement and support project initiatives through Salesforce. Evaluate approaches for integration of Salesforce applications and other enterprise systems and applications to support simplifying operations.
- Trains and supports end users on the proper uses of the Salesforce application. Assist in training of new users, and grow the Salesforce skill set across the organization.

-General working knowledge of physical data models, technical architecture, system interfaces, etc.
-Strong understanding of the platform, with the ability to build custom apps and objects, formula fields, workflows, custom views, and other content of intermediate complexity.
-Strong understanding of Salesforce best practices and functionality.
-Experience working in a SCRUM or agile environment.
-A working knowledge of various secondary products and solutions offered by Salesforce, as well as the ability to teach basic Salesforce functions.
-Data analysis skills and knowledge.

Selective Preference(s):

Bachelor's degree plus 5 or more years of experience in database administration (or equivalent experience). Minimum two years of experience as a Salesforce administrator preferred. Salesforce Administrator certified.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

(PLS Fingerprint cards) Must possess a valid level one fingerprint clearance card issued pursuant to A.R.S.41-1758.07 or must apply for a level one fingerprint clearance card within seven working days after beginning employment. Retirement:

To help you build a financially secure future, the State makes monthly contributions to finance your retirement benefit. The State will contribute to the ASRS in an amount equal to your contribution. In other words, you and the State will each pay 50% of the total cost of the benefit. New State employees have a 27-week wait period for contributions to begin.
