Lead Salesforce Developer - Remote

Remote, must adhere to EST.

The Lead level Developer will help support our CRM Sales and Service organization with the primary system being Salesforce. There is also an opportunity to work on other systems and technology that integrate with Salesforce. You will have new development, enhancement, system integration and systems support responsibilities. This assignment provides opportunities for you to develop the solution and share your knowledge with internal team members. You will develop your skills while utilizing your attention to detail, as well as honing your ability to build and maintain effective relationships with teammates and business customers. You will learn about insurance products, policy servicing and sales. The team works very closely with our business partners to develop requirements, designs, and solutions that increase the efficiency of our Sales and Service organization. The team will follow a Scrum/Agile/DevOps approach to managing work.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Work with an Agile Scrum team of 15+ people
  • Develop solution designs and estimates
  • Develop or configure solutions using standard Salesforce capability implementing client's requirements

Required Skills:

  • Salesforce experience (Salesforce SOQL, Apex and Lightning)
  • Knowledge of User Management: User Profiles, User Permission Sets, Sharing Rules, Role Hierarchy and User Setup
  • Standard Object testing and/or modifications: Workflows, Approval Processes, and Page Layouts
  • Knowledge of Opportunity management
  • Solve complex technical and operational problems.
  • Act as a resource for teammates with less experience
  • Actively participate in refining user stories.
  • Responsible for design, developing, and maintaining automated unit testing, and supporting integration and functional testing.
  • Responsible for providing automated monitoring capabilities, providing warranty support, and providing knowledge transfer to production support.
  • Develop code in accordance with the acceptance criteria established by the Product Owner.
  • Build non-functional monitoring capabilities and provide escalated support for highly complex applications in production. Build in and maintain security controls and monitoring in support of company standards
  • Share knowledge about Salesforce development, mentor and train other developers on the project team.

Preferred skills and experience:

  • Microsoft .NET Framework (ASP.Net, C#)
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Provar automated testing tool
  • Salesforce Financial Service Cloud
  • Salesforce Developer Certification(s)
  • In lieu of Salesforce Developer Certification, a minimum of 3 years of related experience testing and developing Salesforce.
  • Insurance or financial services experience
  • Experience with cloud technologies, such as AWS or Azure
  • Strong understanding of SOA and/or Open API methodologies and service architectures
  • Experience with MuleSoft for API development and Data Loading (ETL)
  • Experience with Salesforce Shield for Encryption, Monitoring and Analytics, and Audit Trail
  • Experience with Gearset for code management and deployment in a CICD environment
  • Experience with OwnBackup backup solution
  • Knowledge of Messaging systems like Moxie, Chat Cisco Chat, Salesforce email, etc.


  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in an Information Technology discipline or related field of study and minimum of six years of work experience designing, programming, and supporting software programs or applications.
  • In lieu of the above, a high school diploma or GED or higher, the completion of a technical training program, and a minimum of six years related work experience.
  • In lieu of the above, a high school diploma or GED or higher and a minimum of eight years related work experience designing, programming, and supporting software programs and applications.
