An IT Salesforce Business Systems Analyst plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions within an organization. They are responsible for understanding and documenting the requirements of various stakeholders and translating them into actionable plans.

An IT BSA works closely with business users, project managers, and development teams to gather, analyze, and document detailed business requirements. They conduct thorough data analysis, identify process improvement opportunities, and provide valuable insights for decision-making.

Additionally, BSAs collaborate with cross-functional teams to help define project scope, create functional specifications, and design and configure Salesforce solutions. They actively participate in system testing, ensuring the quality and functionality of the implemented solutions. This role requires deep understanding of Salesforce applications, business processes, and excellent analytical and communication skills.

Essential Functions:

  • Gathering, analyzing, and documenting detailed business requirements.
  • Conducting in-depth data analysis and presenting findings to stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define and refine project scope and objectives.
  • Creating functional specifications and system design documentation.
  • Configuring Salesforce to meet business requirements using declarative features.
  • Participating in the development and execution of system testing plans.
  • Assisting in the implementation and deployment of IT solutions.
  • Performing administrative functions in Salesforce orgs, inclusive of app integrations.
  • Developing and delivering training programs to educate users on Salesforce functionality and best practices.
  • Providing technical guidance and support to end-users.
  • Proactively managing incidents, user requests, and projects to provide complete resolution according to SLAs.


  • Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience as a Salesforce professional, with a proven track record of successful Salesforce implementations
  • Salesforce Certified Administrator and Platform App Builder certifications are required; Salesforce Advanced Administrator Certification and/or Salesforce Developer certifications are a plus
  • Strong Salesforce product knowledge (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Pardot, Experience Cloud)
  • Ability to comfortably interact with all levels of the organization
