LOCATION: New York, NY (CSC)

Grade/Class: Grade I, Exempt, Non-union

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Director IT, Salesforce will focus on governance, application delivery and support, technology operations and data quality for Salesforce CRM, Marketing Cloud and other related enterprise applications. This role is responsible for application development, database design, technology operations and reporting. The Director will assist VP of IT in creating long- and short-term strategy and plans for ADL’s Salesforce platform. Additionally the Director will participate in initiatives/projects, will analyze and deliver enhancements, reduce customizations, implement best practices for SDLC, user training, license utilization and integration, and will ensure high data quality.

The Director should have knowledge of the functionality of Salesforce eco-system products (i.e., Nonprofit Cloud, Philanthropy Cloud, SF Shield, etc.) and licensing, database best practices and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and is vigilant about maintaining the integrity and security of ADL systems to better serve the needs and aspirations of all departments, and ADL’s overall mission.

Primary:

Ensure optimal implementation and performance of Salesforce systems and products.

Assist VP of IT in ROI analysis and business case studies for project approval.

Implement best practices for user license utilization.

Manage internal and external Admin and Application Development resources.

Manage & execute Salesforce based projects, develop schedules, manage risks and issues, facilitate meetings, report status to IT Leadership and Business Stakeholders. Act as a point of contact for teams when multiple workstreams are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy.

Make effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with a project.

Gather and analyze business and functional requirements and translate those into database structures and technical designs.

Participate in and coordinate User Acceptance and Regression Testing for scheduled releases.

Design specifications and layouts for ad hoc reports across ADL back-end systems, implement and/or guide their implementation.

Define Salesforce data validation rules and automation.

Implement Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and other best practices.

Ensure data quality in Salesforce.

Stay up-to-date with Salesforce updates, new features, and emerging trends, and recommend relevant enhancements or integrations to improve operational effectiveness.

Ensure proper technical and business process documentation.

Collaborate with IT Service Desk to ensure best customer service experience for Salesforce application support.

Perform Root Cause Analysis on major issues with a focus on finding ways to prevent repeated future problems.

Perform other duties or special projects as required or assigned.

Salesforce configuration, administration, reporting and database skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Project Planning, Scheduling, Tracking & Reporting. Manage multiple projects at once in parallel.

Experienced knowledge of project management methodologies such as SCRUM, Agile, hybrid and best practices.

Experience with troubleshooting principles and issue resolution techniques.

Good understanding of Master Data Management (MDM) concepts.

Good understanding of ITIL processes.

Business Requirements gathering, writing business and functional requirements.

Understanding of User Experience, User Acceptance and Regression Testing concepts.

Work Experience:

The ideal candidate has several years’ experience with application development, technology operations on prem and SaaS/Cloud including experience working with Salesforce CRM (Nonprofit and/or Philanthropy Cloud) and Marketing Cloud, including administration, configuration and development.

Project management experience with Salesforce based projects required.

Must have managed and have demonstrable experience growing & developing a team.

SDLC implementation experience.

Vendor Management experience.

Experience evaluating and working with other CRM solutions preferred.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related area, or equivalent experience.

PMP or PGPM PMI Certification or equivalent preferred.

Work Environment:

ADL COVID-19 Protocol (updated periodically): ADL is adhering to public health guidance regarding COVID-19. ADL is a hybrid environment; this role may require 3 days in the office.

Compensation:

This position has a salary range of $130,000 to $160,000. This salary range is reflective of a position based in New York, NY. Please note that actual salaries are commensurate with experience and reflect the budget for a given position, and since ADL has a location-based compensation structure, there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
